LESSON ACADEMY
Lesson Academy Philosophy

Even the most seasoned rider started their equestrian journey with their first riding lesson. Our academy adheres to a structured curriculum of riding theory, strength and confidence building, as well as learning the purpose behind each introduced skill. Our curriculum follows a comprehensive format that allows each rider to build on their previous lesson and understand each milestone to track their progress. We offer safe, healthy and experienced school-master type horses that teach each student how to become a seasoned equestrian.
ACADEMY INSTRUCTOR: KELSIE PEAD

Kelsie is originally from Astoria, Oregon and has been thoroughly horse crazy from the start. Kelsie’s love for riding took root through a competitive 4-H program and quickly expanded. She developed an appreciation for both flat-work and comprehensive horsemanship through her foundational training in Hunt & Western Equitation/Pleasure. While competing in the Morgan Circuit, Kelsie gained Regional, Grand National and World Championship titles as a junior rider.
After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in nursing, Kelsie began taking Hunter/Jumper lessons in 2016 and hasn’t looked back! As a working student for a Utah-based Grand Prix rider/trainer, Kelsie developed a deep love for OTTBs and competed both locally and in the Arizona A-Show Circuit.
Kelsie is now a Texas native with her husband, dog and horses. With over 20 years of riding experience, Kelsie believes in having courage and being kind to horses, others, and ourselves. She currently assists with training rides and is the Instructor for the Lesson Academy at Southlake Equestrian. She furthers her own training at Southlake Equestrian and participates in the local and traveling A-Show Circuit with her personal horses.
